The VISION of Harmony Fellowship is Peace, Harmony and Prosperity for all.
AFFIRMING that Spirit is our source, Harmony Fellowship provides a community for spiritual nourishment, fellowship, prayer and service.
The PRINCIPLES of Harmony Fellowship are Inclusiveness, Integrity, Humility, Compassion, Transparency and Generosity.
What we believe: The members of Harmony Fellowship of Fort Worth believe and strive to live by the following:
1. In the universe, there is only one power beyond man and that power is referred to by many names – God, Allah, Spirit, and others.
2. All people are part of this power, directly embodying it and needing no intermediaries.
3. All people can communicate and tap into this single, limitless power through thoughtful prayer.
4. All people directly influence their own lives and circumstances through the power of their thoughts.
5. Acting and living according to these beliefs is the only way to know and demonstrate their truth.
Harmony Fellowship is a metaphysical church. That is, we believe in more than is apparent in the physical world. We believe in the energy of love that is taught by Jesus the Christ. We believe the teachings of the Christ and other master teachers are given to assist in making our lives more practical and fulfilling if we can but recognize the clues that have been provided not only for the ancients but for modern man. Truths that have been truth from the beginning of time are often labeled as New Thought. We seek to know and live our understanding of universal truth.
We believe in the oneness of mankind. We are an inclusive spiritual community that seeks to uplift our own understanding and grow in grace. We believe in the absolute joy of life. We believe in the power of healing prayer. We believe in honoring our Source by living prosperously and sharing our own understanding of the science of abundance. Please join us when Spirit moves you.
Harmony Fellowship is a relatively new congregation. Twenty people met for the first time on Sunday, June 12, 2011, for Fellowship and a Potluck. Grounded in the principles of harmony and unity, this small group met at the Gallery of Rebecca Low – and continued to do so the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month for spiritual and physical nourishment. Word spread quickly and the attendance numbers grew from Sunday to Sunday until the Gallery was no longer large enough to accommodate everyone.
Harmony leased a new space and held its first service at 824 Pennsylvania on March 4th, 2012, with 165 people in attendance.. It was at this time we began holding services weekly and continuing the Potlucks on the 2nd and 4th Sundays.
Harmony is blessed to have Revs. Glenn and Pat Moore as its Senior Spiritual Leaders and Rev Scott McDowell as Associate Spiritual Leader. Glenn normally speaks twice a month, Scott once a month, Pat speaks six times a year, and lay speaker, Jim Anderson speaks six times a year. Guest speakers fill in the remaining four Sundays. As Harmony’s Senior Spiritual Leaders, the Moores also lead the Healing Ministry and perform services for the membership such as weddings, memorial services and baptisms. They are always available whenever a need arises.
Harmony’s Music Director, Ken Dinkins, coordinates all music for each service and for music related special events. He directs Harmony’s choir which performs monthly and for special services. Ken also performs at least once per month. Guest musicians share their talents on the remaining Sundays.
Because of our excellent speakers, messages and music, Harmony has over 100 registered members and average attendance on Sundays varies from 65 – 90. On several occasions more than 150 people have been in attendance. Child care is available, a Compassionate Care Team serves the needs of members, a lending library is well used, classes are well attended each Sunday morning and occasional workshops are offered as well. All is in Divine Order. Harmony is a true place of unconditional love and acceptance. Its positive messages, music, energy and fellowship will take one through their week even with the challenges that occur.
BOOK STUDY CLASS, Led by CINDA CHENEY meets every Sunday at 9:30 am. The book, A New Earth, by Eckhart Tolle describes how transcending the limitations of our ego consciousness is essential to personal happiness, and this transcendence also provides the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world. He shows readers how to awaken to a new state of consciousness.
